Questions from development team

TOPIC: TR for iPhone

Re:TR for iPhone 15 years 11 months ago #885

Hello,

first of all i appreciate it very much, that you are developing ThinkingRock for iPhine. I'm currently using OmniFocus for iPhone and it makes me nuts! I'm used to ThinkingRock and OmniFocus on iPhone is not intuitive enough for me.

If i may state some "wishes" for the ThinkingRock iPhone App:
  1. Collection of thoughts: the easy way - start the app, touch one button, collect different thoughts. Collect thoughts from everywhere in the app.
  2. Report actions by context: this is the ultimate target - having all my actions mobile and could review them by location to check if i have to work on something.
  3. Report reference items: i use them for wish lists, recipes, etc.. So that there are often occasions where i need them being on the move.
  4. Copy and paste: that makes working with every app on the iPhone much more effective.
  5. Syncing with desktop app: don't know how this may work, maybe over wifi??? But the option would be nice!

If you are searching for beta testers, do not hesitate asking me!

Daniel

Hello,

I was just curious if anyone knew a possible release timeline for the iPhone ThinkingRock app. I'm holding off buying an iPhone until I can use TR with it.

For me in particular, adding new tasks and deleting old ones will be the real turning point. Does anyone have any idea how long, even roughly (ie 1 month, 6 months, etc) it might be before the app allowed this?

Thanks!

I would still like to take part in betatesting as I wrote some time ago.

I read about an Ad Hoc mechanism to distribute apps directly to betatesters without the app-store.

I'm using TR everyday.

Thanks,

Markus

Do you remember where you read about it? We will like to start the beta testing next week.

In French we have a saying "Tout vient a temps à qui sait attendre" - Everything is coming in time to whom can wait.

Almost ready to start the beta testing. I have already asked a German user but if anyone else uses a different character set, please contact us.

We are going to limit ourselves to 10 beta testers, so the first 10 emails we received will join. Don't worry the real app will come very soon anyway - depending on Apple's approval time.

In order to use the iPhone appplication, you will need to have access to a wireless network in order to sync.

We need your Device Id. Here are the instructions from Apple:

Sending Your Device ID to Developers
Before a developer can send you an application for testing, they must register your device under their iPhone to Developer Program.

To send your device ID to a developer for test-program registration:
1. Launch iTunes.
2. Connect your device to your computer.
3. Select the device in the Devices list.
4. In the Summary pane, click the Serial Number label. It changes to Identifier.
5. Choose Edit > Copy.
6. Email your device identifier to the developer.
Be sure to include your name and device name in the email.
