I installed TR3 OK in linux (Ubuntu 10.04), but find it cumbersome to open it up to run.

Seems that Linux install instructions are incomplete, unless I'm just mistaken....as it seems quite lengthy for me to navigate to the folder where the tr file is located and then do in terminal:
$ sh tr

Is there a simpler way to do this?

can you add TR3 to the Applications menu or ?

Thanks for any suggestions....

Mark

I'm installing 3.03 on my Gentoo-Box right now. Like you, I want to integrate TR in my KDE4-menu. There is an menu-editor to do so. You just have to add the path to tr in the editor. The icon can be added to. If you are using gnome, xfce or another wm there should be an editor for the menus too.

Another way to get tr running without an console would be to place an link to the executable "tr" in one of your path-directories (for example /usr/bin). But be carefull, perhaps there is another file "tr". In my case there is an translating-tool starting, if I type tr.

Hope I could help you

Thanks for the information, uhai!

In Ubuntu, I found Main Menu in System>Preferences and added TR3 to the list by selecting it with open in terminal option added the icon from the picture in the same folder as the tr file....

Just tried it and it worked!

Thanks!
