FWIW, here is my review of TR on the iTunes Store. My intent is to be constructive. I'm very disappointed by version 1.0, particularly after paying USD $5.99 for it. Still working with 3.03 desktop.

Jim

ThinkingRock desktop is one of the best GTD applications I have found. I had been eagerly anticipating an iPhone app to complement it. But TR version 1.0 is a huge disappointment. I would not recommend it to others until greater functionality is provided. At least it could be offered at a modest $0.99 price.

With the TR iPhone app, all one can do is add new 'Thoughts' that can be sync'd over Wi-Fi to the desktop TR app. That's just the first step of task management. One can already add new 'Thoughts' to TR from the iPhone by sending email to the desktop app.

The TR iPhone app can also list all 'Do ASAP' tasks. That's it. There's not even a way to mark a 'Do ASAP' task completed. There's no way to list Projects or Actions, much less modify or rearrange them.

I'm hoping this app will gain useful features soon. In the meantime, I'm resorting to Action Lists on my iPhone and Toodledo on my desktop as ad-hoc GTD solutions.

Thank you for pushing us to get the next versions out sooner.

FYI, our intention is that the next version for iPhone will be an upgrade of version 1.0 and you will not have to pay extra for it (if Apple Store lets us do it that way).

I have to test the version allowing the user to tick the action as done. It should be submitted to the store soon.

We will then work on extra views.

Here's my iTunes review. If I've made any errors, pls let me know. Keep up the good work.

If you are using TR on your computer, then this app gives you several functions that will sync with your main TR planning.
for instance, you can record thoughts (which must be processed on your computer)
you can also review ASAP actions and mark them as done

however, keep in mind that the functions are quite limited compared to the full TR.
for instance, it doesn't show you scheduled actions (a real drawback), nor actions sorted by priority (though perhaps this can be done by reworking Contexts)
also, it doesn't seem to show any of the Projects by which your actions would be organized

all in all, though, it's a fine start and we should encourage the good folks at TR to keep improving this app

AGREED! There is greatness here, just under the surface. A little time and energy is needed to make this a truly outstanding and everyday-useful application.

I eagerly anticipate the updates and the continued ongoing great work to both TR and the iPhone application!
